What are the hardware requirements to use PorterSoft Solutions?
Technically you do not need any hardware for PorterSoft Solutions, since we are a hosted solution. We provide the system, the system maintenance,
and all other IT resources/hardware. You will need computer systems with Internet and browser capability to log into the system.
We suggest using the latest computer systems available with the latest version(s) of Microsoft. Internet Explorer is preferred.

Who owns the data?
PorterSoft Solutions provides the system and our clients' an interface to enter the data. You own your data at all times. This is an important part of your selection process.
Some companies may hold your data hostage while PorterSoft Solutions encourages you to take periodic data snap-shots. The data exports into
XLS file format right from the site and may be used in your other systems if so desired. You can also request an off-line snap-shot to be done periodically and sent to you.

Is your system secure?
PorterSoft Solutions uses a 256-Bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL), the same security level used at financial institutions and other online service,
so your log in is safe and secure.

How does your barcode scanning software work?
The Barcode scanning tool is a very lightweight downloadable tool. You dont even how to install it. Just download. unzip and run. The barcode scanning software connects directly to
your web database through a series of service calls. So whatever is done with the barcode scanning software is automatically synchronized with the web.

What is an ASP?
PorterSoft Solutions is Application Service Provider, or Software as a Service, available via the Internet (100% web-based).
There is no software to install and we support, maintain, and update the system constantly. No IT resources
or hardware needed, no extra or hidden fees, and a secure system available 24/7 from anywhere you have an Internet connection and Explorer 5.0 or higher.
It's easy, effective without software to install/maintain.

Are there any other fees associated with using the system?
No. There is not general setup cost. No transactional fees (unless you are using our payment gateway service). You only pay your monthly user fees and that's it.
